The projects were sponsored by Nigerian music star Burna Boy and social media activist VeryDarkMan following a viral appeal by a daughter of the community.
The facilities, which have brought renewed hope to residents, were made possible through the courageous intervention of Miss Minnie Winnie Uchechi.
Miss Uchechi had visited the community's government school and was moved by its deplorable state - a dilapidated structure without basic learning equipment, unfit for children. Disturbed by what she saw, she recorded a video of the school and posted it online, calling for government intervention and support from well-meaning Nigerians.
The video went viral, drawing the attention of Burna Boy and VeryDarkMan, who undertook to build a standard school and clinic for the community.
The commissioning ceremony marks a major milestone for Igbu Odiokwu, where access to quality education and healthcare remains central to community welfare.
Hon. Ogiri, who was warmly received by his maternal kinsmen, commended Miss Uchechi for her bravery and love for her people, describing her action as an exemplary act of community service. He also expressed appreciation to Burna Boy and VeryDarkMan for their swift response to the plight of the people.
His presence at the event further underscores his deep connection to his roots and his commitment to supporting initiatives that promote development and the well-being of the people.
