The traditional duties of the Ekpeye ethnic nationality have been formally assumed by the Monarch of Igbu Akoh Kingdom, His Majesty, Eze Hon. Cassidy O.W. Ikegbidi, JP, AP, Eze Igbu-Akoh II.

Eze Ikegbidi, who is holding forth for His Imperial Majesty, Eze Sir (Amb) Kelvin Ngozi Anugwo, JP, DSSRS, Eze Ekpeye Logbo III, officially resumed duty today, Sunday, 4th October, 2026.

Upon resumption, the caretaker monarch convened a combined meeting of the Eze Ekpeye Logbo-in-Council and the Igbu Akoh Council to brief members on necessary adjustments for the effective running of both the Igbu-Akoh Kingdom and the Ekpeye Ethnic Nationality.

In his address, Eze Ikegbidi disclosed that he will hold forth for only one month, pending the return of His Imperial Majesty. He assured that he will not make any changes to the existing structure and personnel working with Eze Ekpeye Logbo, to ensure synergy and smooth flow of duties.

Clarifying the reason for the monarch's absence, His Royal Highness, Eze Chigbo John, Nyeso Eze Ekpeye Logbo, stated that the one-month vacation of Eze Ekpeye Logbo was not due to ill health, but a well-deserved break from demanding activities. He added that by the grace of God, the monarch will return home after one month.

The meeting was attended by several prominent Ekpeye sons, including the Chief of Staff to Eze Ekpeye Logbo, Chief Rowland Ebeledhi; Secretary to Ekpeye Council of Traditional Rulers and Chiefs, HRH Eze David Chigemerem; HRH Eze Abraham Nsirim, Ny'udu Owu Orlukwo Kingdom; HRH Eze Moses Daniel Agbezhi, Ny'udu Ugbokor Upata; Chief Dibia Reason Elisha, Chief of Staff to Eze Igbu Odhiokwu; Chief Orike Silas Ojimini, Ny'udu Ukani Ula Ugbobi; HRH Eze Robinson Prince N.
