The vacation takes effect from 3rd October, 2026.
In a statement issued from the Palace, Eze Ekpeye Logbo III informed the general public, all Ezes, Chiefs, and the entire Ekpeye people at home and in the diaspora, that he has transmitted the headship of the Ekpeye Kingdom to His Royal Majesty, Eze Dr. (Hon.) Cassidy O. W. Ikegbidi, JP, AP, FICAN, FCIAP (Chartered), Eze Igbu Akoh II of Akoh Kingdom (Owuze Ekpeye Logbo), of the Palace of Eze Igbu Akoh, Ihugbogo Town, Ahoada East LGA.
By the transmission, HRM Eze Dr. Cassidy Ikegbidi will act in the capacity of Eze Ekpeye Logbo III and perform the roles of the Supreme King of Ekpeye Land till 6th November, 2026.
According to the statement, His Imperial Majesty will resume full royal duties on 7th November, 2026.
Eze Ekpeye Logbo III expressed appreciation to HRM Eze Igbu Akoh II for accepting the responsibility and called on all Ekpeye sons and daughters to give him full support and cooperation during the period, noting that all rights and privileges of Eze Ekpeye Logbo have been conferred on him for the duration of the vacation.
