The member representing Ahoada East Constituency II in the Rivers State House of Assembly, Sir Napoleon Ukalikpe, has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his efforts in tackling insecurity, noting that renewed military operations have significantly improved security in his constituency.
Ukalikpe stated this on the sidelines of the Third Session of the Sixth Conference at St. James Anglican Church, Ogbele Deanery, where he called on youths and other residents to embrace peace and shun activities capable of undermining development.
According to the lawmaker, the improvement in the security situation in parts of Ahoada East is a direct result of directives issued by President Tinubu to the military high command.
He urged residents to sustain the prevailing peace by engaging in productive ventures and supporting community development initiatives, while advising young people in particular to avoid social vices and contribute meaningfully to the growth of the constituency.
Ukalikpe reaffirmed his commitment to people-oriented representation, stressing that youth empowerment and delivery of impactful projects remain top priorities of his legislative agenda.
Speaking on his stewardship so far, the lawmaker said that within five months in office, he has facilitated several interventions aimed at bridging infrastructure gaps in the area.
He listed the projects to include the provision of a 500KVA transformer in Okporowo community, the supply of pipe-borne water to Ihuama and Okpoga Udhodu communities, and an ongoing drainage project covering Odiabidi and Obumeze communities.
Ukalikpe said the interventions were designed to improve living conditions and enhance socio-economic activities across Ahoada East Constituency II.
He expressed optimism about the future development of the constituency and pledged to sustain efforts at attracting more dividends of democracy to his people.
The lawmaker also called on residents to support President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope agenda and to vote for candidates of the Rainbow Coalition in Rivers State in the forthcoming general elections.
He reiterated that peace, unity, youth development and sustainable infrastructure will continue to guide his efforts toward the overall development of Ahoada East Constituency II.
