Nwuche Commends Nyesom Wike for Developing Ekpeye Kingdom. Urges Council Chairmen to Emulate him.


Former Deputy Speaker House of Representatives and Chairman of the South South Development Commission Rt. Hon Prince Chibudom Nwuche has commended the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory Barr Nyesom Ezenwo Wike for his development strides while serving as Governor of Rivers State, and thanked him again for the strides Ekpeye nation achieved under his administration. These strides include the Edeoha/Ikata/Ochigba road, Ahoada/Odhiemerenyi/Ihugbogo/Odhieke roads, Ahoada/Ekpena roads, Ogbo/Ihugbogo roads, Odhiemudie road, Odioku Internal roads, Obodhi/Ozochi road with bridge across Orashi River, dualization of Ahoada/Omoku road with street lights, Ula Ehuda/Odhioku/Odhireke road, Remodeling of Western Ahoada County High School Ahoada, Ahoada campus of Rivers State University, Mbiama/Orkaki/Agbo road, Odhioku Primary Health Care, Ahoada Regional Hospital, Odido road with Bridge etc

“It was indeed the first time Ekpeye Kingdom had seen any development by any Civilian Government since 1999, when Ekpeye people were only patronised for their votes and forgotten after the elections”. That previous administrations only used Ekpeye sons to fight and pull down each other, while depriving them of any developments. He dared any person to mention any significant project planted by any other administration between 1999 and 2015.

He maintained that Ekpeye people will always remain with Wike, President Bola Tinubu and will give them 100% percent support. He maintained that Ekpeye people at the grassroots know their genuine leaders and will follow them when the time comes. Nwuche said he “will personally go round every Ekpeye village during the coming campaigns to ensure 100% for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and candidates of the Rainbow coalition, including our gubernatorial candidate O K Chinda.”

Nwuche who was represented by Chief Kingdom Ajugo, and Chief Vision Paul at the thank you visit of the local Government Chairman Hon Solomon Abuba Ochoma to his village ochigba community on Saturday 12th September 2026, gave the party supporters gifts and urged members of the Rainbow coalition to remain steadfast and bring in more people, as politics was a game of numbers.

He thanked Wike for the construction of the Edeoha/Ikata/Ochigba road during his administration when the administration before his abandoned the road because Nwuche was from Ochigba community and was loathed by their leader. The road was commissioned upon completion in February 2018 by the former Speaker Of the House of Representatives Rt Hon Ghali Umar Naaba( May his soul continue to rest in peace), whom Nwuche deputised and worked closely and harmoniously with.

He urged the Council Chairman to emulate Nyesom Wike who did several laudable projects in Obio Akpor as Council chairman, and left an enviable legacy that led him to become Governor and now Minister of FCT.

He urged the chairman to ensure that his promise to Ochigba people was kept.

The former Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives thanked the Local Government Chairman for choosing an indigene of Ochigba, Hon Mrs Florence Odukwu as Deputy Chairman and for the cordial working relationship. Maintaining that Mrs Odukwu whose late husband Hon Ameka Odukwu was his uncle had been a strong pillar of the PDP in  Ahaoda East Local Government Area. That Mrs Odukwu had paid had her dues also as a party leader at various levels. 

He urged Abuba to continue the good works of  providing social services to the people of Ahoada East Local Government Area. He urged him to invest in the security of the local Government area to enable businesses thrive and create employment for the masses. He urged him to invest in the welfare of the security agencies to crack down on criminality, cultism and other related crimes. 

He used the opportunity to urge the people to continue to support President Tinubu Administration and to vote to return him to office for second term come 2027 general elections by supporting the Renewed Hope Rainbow Coalition in Rivers State under the leadership of Nyesom Wike, the APC governorship candidate Hon O. K Chinda and all candidates of the Rainbow Coalition to guarantee a  developed  Rivers state. 

Earlier in his speech, the paramount ruler of Ochigba Community Chief James Anyike thanked the Chairman for the gesture and on behalf of the community, named completion of the school building at the permanent site of the Senior Secondary School; a project already started by the community as well as construction of drainage at the major water outlet in the community which causes flooding during rainy season. The Chief also thanked Hon Prince Chibudom Nwuche for being a pillar of the community and assisting all persons, and empowering widows, youths, elderly etc.

In his response, the executive chairman of Ahoada East local government Area Hon Solomon Abuba Ochoma said he was in the community to thank them for the massive votes delivered during his election and to fulfill his campaign promise that when elected, he will come back to thank them and seek their input in governance and so he was delighted by the reception accorded him and his entourage and assured the people of  commencement of work on the nominated projects.  

Highlights of the event was presentation of gift items to the Council Chairman and his entourage by Hon Nwuche and cash donation to Ochigba community in appreciation for turning out in their numbers to receive the Chairman and his entourage.
