Former Chairman of Ahoada West Local Government Area, Hon. Iyekor Ikporo, Ph.D, FCNA, FCIA, has paid a condolence visit to the family of late N.B. Okwa, Eze Emene Eka-mini-Ubie I of Ubie Kingdom.
Ikporo, who was accompanied by members of the Iyekor Support Group, visited the bereaved family to commiserate with them over the demise of the revered traditional ruler.
Speaking during the visit, Ikporo described the late Eze Emene as a distinguished traditional leader whose immense contributions to Ekamini Community, Ubie Kingdom and the entire Ekpeye nation will remain cherished and indelible.
He sympathized with the family over the loss and urged them to take solace in God, while assuring them of his support and full participation in the funeral arrangements once a burial date is announced.
Responding on behalf of the family, Prince Ukpeni Okwa thanked Hon. Iyekor Ikporo for finding time out of his tight schedule to identify with the family in their moment of grief.
Prince Okwa described Ikporo as a man who has consistently shown love, compassion and genuine concern for his people.
He further assured that the family will keep him abreast of developments as regards the burial arrangements.
The visit ended with prayers for the bereaved family and for the peaceful repose of the soul of the late monarch.
