ADC Rivers West Senatorial Candidate, Ochieze Otto, Inaugurates Campaign Council, Vows Victory in 2027

High Chief Engr. Dr. Ochieze Josiah Otto, the African Democratic Congress (ADC) candidate for Rivers West Senatorial District, has formally inaugurated his Senatorial Campaign Council ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The inauguration ceremony, held on Sunday at Mestro Resort and Hotel, Ahoada, headquarters of the Rivers West Senatorial District, drew party leaders, candidates, women and youth leaders, and LGA party chairmen from across the zone.

Speaking at the event, Dr. Otto, an engineering management expert and hospitality consultant, vowed to defeat his opponents, declaring that his political analysis shows he will sweep the polls overwhelmingly.

“I am more prepared, formidable and credible,” Otto said, adding that his political ideology is inspired by former Rivers State Governor, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, whose leadership qualities he said have distinguished him among his contemporaries.

Representing the ADC State Chairman, Dr. Chukwudi Dimkpa, Mr. Silas Agbadi said the ADC is on a “rescue mission to salvage Nigeria from unwarranted inflation and hardship inflicted by the current administration.”

In his welcome address, the ADC Vice Chairman for Rivers West, Mr. Ndubuisi Anthony, urged members to intensify efforts, noting that the campaign would demonstrate that the ADC is the party to rescue Nigeria.

Former House of Representatives member, Amaopusenibo (Hon.) Tonye Osobonye Longjohn, charged council members to take the campaign to every ward and community, listen to the people, and promote peaceful, people-centred leadership. He assured the candidate of the council’s full commitment, stressing that “victory begins with unity, sacrifice and hard work.”

Also speaking, the ADC leader in Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni LGA, Hon. Sunny Obowu, described Chief Otto as a “strategic champion,” expressing optimism that he would deploy effective strategies to win. He said the meeting sealed an agreement to vote for all ADC candidates from presidential to state assembly levels.

Dr. Joseph Ile, who introduced members of the campaign council, urged them to be proactive in grassroots engagement.

In his acceptance speech, the Director-General of the Campaign Council, Chief (Suv) Ishiagwoh Ben Temple, thanked party leaders for the confidence reposed in them and promised a thorough, inclusive and grassroots-based campaign.

The inauguration marks a shift for Dr. Otto from consultations to structured mobilisation, following weeks of engagements with communities, stakeholders and supporters across Rivers West.
