In a bold move to redefine grassroots leadership, Amb. Dr. Ekwutoziam A. Ogwus Chinedu, CEO of Ekash Collection, has unveiled her comprehensive development blueprint titled "THE AUDACIOUS WOMAN - A Blueprint for Grassroots Renaissance."
The manifesto, which outlines a strategic roadmap for inclusive and sustainable development, is anchored on audacious leadership, accountability, and community-driven empowerment.
Dr. Ekwutoziam, speaking through her support platform, the Ogwus Youth Empowerment and Community Development Organization (OYECDO), said the blueprint is designed to deliver tangible impact across all sectors of the federal constituency.
The Strategic Development Agenda
The blueprint is built on seven core pillars:
1. Skill Development and Empowerment: Establishment of ICT, Artisanal and Crafts Development Centres, alongside agricultural development projects. The plan also includes grants and soft loans to boost agriculture, trade and commerce, with special focus on youth and women empowerment.
2. Rural Development: A commitment to environmental, infrastructural, and ultra-modern market development to curtail environmental degradation and improve living standards.
3. Educational Development: Introduction of scholarships, bursaries, and school quiz competitions to encourage and sustain academic excellence.
4. Socio-Religious and Youth Development: Promotion of good morals and positive youth engagement through Bible quiz competitions, sports development and talent hunts.
5. Security Development: Establishment of Constituency Security Guards to curb youth restiveness and tackle insecurity at the grassroots.
6. Welfare Development: Monthly disbursement of allowances and stipends to traditional rulers, Presidents-General (PGs), indigent persons and the aged to support their well-being.
7. Legal and Medical Support: Engagement of a dedicated legal team to provide full pro-bono legal services for the oppressed, and free medical outreach for the aged and indigent.
Audacious Leadership Model
At the heart of the blueprint is a new leadership philosophy centred on transparency and strong representation.
According to the document, Dr. Ogwus will run an open-book, transparent administration with quarterly town hall sessions to review constituency activities.
She also pledged to be "constructively audacious and feisty in the Green Chambers" to entrench quality representation for her people.
To ensure effective implementation, the blueprint proposes the establishment of a Constituency Projects Development and Management Council (PDMC) that will monitor, evaluate and supervise all projects and activities. The Council will be backed by a Trust Fund to power all development programs, with a firm commitment that all projects will be fully executed by indigenous contractors.
The manifesto concludes with a call for total empowerment and community transformation under the platform powered by OYECDO.
