The Orashi National Congress (ONC) has unveiled a two-day programme of activities to commemorate the 74th birthday anniversary of the Deputy Governor of Rivers State and Grand Patroness of the ONC, Her Excellency Prof. Ngozi Nma Odu, DSSRS.
The announcement was made on Sunday, 11th October, 2026, in a statement signed by the President General of the Congress, Amb. Comrade Emeni Ibe, JP, AP.
According to the statement, the celebration is in honour of the Deputy Governor, who will clock 74 on Monday, 19th October, 2026. The group described Prof. Odu as a beloved mother, leader and Grand Patroness whose life reflects excellence, service, humility and motherly love for the Orashi people and Rivers State at large.
The ONC stated that as a body graciously mothered by Her Excellency, it could not allow the milestone to pass without a befitting celebration.
The programme of activities is scheduled as follows:
DAY 1: Sunday, 18th October, 2026 – Birthday Eve
• Special Prayers and Intercessory Session for Her Excellency at five different locations across Rivers State • Media Engagements and Goodwill Messages • Birthday Eve Symposium with the theme: “Celebrating Women in Leadership: The Ngozi Nma Odu Example”
DAY 2: Monday, 19th October, 2026 – Birthday Day
• Special Thanksgiving Service / Prayers for God’s grace upon her life at five different locations and Churches • Visitation to selected Motherless Babies Homes and Orphanage Homes in Rivers State with gift items, in honour of Her Excellency’s compassionate heart for the less privileged.
The Congress noted that the charity visitation reflects the character of its Grand Patroness, who has consistently shown love for the less privileged.
The leadership of the ONC called on all sons and daughters of Orashi – comprising Abua/Odual, Ahoada East, Ahoada West and Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni (ONELGA) – all ONC members, and well-wishers across Rivers State to join in the celebration.
The group added that details of venues for the various activities will be announced in due course.
