SYLVA CANNOT GIVE WHAT HE DOES NOT HAVE - COMR. WISDOM ONIEKPAR
In that statement he also talked about good governance, adequate security of life and property and others which has raised concerns and also given room for countless questions.
While I cannot write off some of the achievements of Sylva's administration, I can make bold to say that his five (5) years rule between 2007 to 2012 qualifies as part of the dark years of our great state.
Bayelsa State under Sylva was like Thomas Hobbes and John Locke State of Nature where life was nasty and brutish. It was also likened to the defunct Soviet Union under Joseph Stalin and the Nazi regime under Adolf Hitler because of the way and manner perceived enemies of the administration were hunted down.
The fear of Famou- Tamgbe was the beginning of wisdom because of the way and manner they were mean, brutal and very heartless. They dehumanized, maimed and even killed Bayelsans and others.
Governance during the period under review was trivialized and reduced to zero level.
On the other hand, since the inception of our contemporary democracy, this is one of the rarest times that Bayelsans are enjoying exceptional level of peace, unity, mutual cooperation across party lines and adequate security.
In the area of Road Construction, Gov. Douye Diri qualifies as a ROAD MASTER because of the wonderful work he is doing.
His prioritization of Civil Servants Salary and Welfare and those of Pensioners is highly commendable.
Gov. Douye Diri is also doing marvellously in the areas of Health and Education.
Like other Bayelsans, am happy Bayelsa State is no longer in the news for wrong and very negative reasons.
But above all, Gov. Douye Diri has given all sections and segments of the state high sense of belonging through his equitable distribution of opportunities including projects.
The best reward for a leader who has done so much in less than four (4) years, is to support him to have a Second Term to consolidate his great works of uniting Bayelsans and building the Bayelsa State of our dream.
