OUR SUPPORT FOR PRESIDENT TINUBU IS BASED ON CONVICTION- ABE

~Says problem of Nigeria is not politics

Former representative of the Rivers South- East Senatorial District at the 8th and 9th National Assembly, Senator Magnus Ngei Abe, has said that his support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is based on the conviction and faith in God that the President possesses the ability to turn around the economic fortunes of Nigeria.

Abe disclosed this while addressing some of his friends and supporters during a luncheon at his residence in Port Harcourt, the state capital on Thursday.

He charged Nigerians not to be distracted because the problem of the country has nothing to do with the ongoing politics.

We have a President who understands money and he knows that the problem of Nigeria is money. He is putting the economy in such a way that you can get money and I can get money.

If that happens, all our efforts, all our supports would have been addressed whether we have positions or not. So, I urge you all to be firm and continue to support the President instead of getting agitated and people make you to behave unseemingly.

We didn’t do what we were doing based on what anybody told us or permutations but it has been based on our convictions in President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and faith in God.

There is a reward for faithfulness that comes from the Almighty God. Therefore, I encourage you not to fret or panic when things happen the way you didn’t expect.

You must learn to think differently and work with others to adapt to the new realities of time. The political drumbeats are changing and for me, no matter what happens, I will keep moving because I cannot be left on the ground.

We are politicians and politics is a game of interest. In politics, you don’t have enemies, you have political opponents. A lot of yesterday’s friends can become opponents today and today’s opponents can become friends tomorrow. That’s the nature of politics.

What does not change is interest and our interests is that our society and our people must be made to live a better life. Great nations of the world today were built on the sacrifices of citizens. The only way Rivers state and Nigerians at large can be built is through our sacrifices.

“Have they told you anything different from what the President told you about himself; that he is a top class brain and has the accounting ability to solve our money problems in Nigeria?

“Nigerians can now confirm that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, actually graduated from the Chicago State University, in flying colours.

Senator Abe declared that he withdrew his petition before the State Election Petitions Tribunal in the interest of the state and urged his supporters to join hands to build a Rivers State that is united, progressive and prosperous”.

He said: "For those of you that are worried, nobody is your enemy. Politics of 2023 has gone. We withdrew the case because we want to contribute to the unity, progress and prosperity of Rivers State.

"When it is time to move the state forward, any hand that is extended to you for a contribution to move Rivers State forward, you must take that hand so that we make our own contribution.

"Let it not be like everything is about only you or only me or only us. We must at a point put our state ahead of us and that is how we will be able to make progress."
