Turnah Writes EFFC, Demands Apology For False Publication Against Him
George Turnah has written the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) demanding an apology for falsehood written against him regarding the Federal High Court judgment in the case between himself and the commission.
Turnah insisted that he was never found guilty or convicted by the Federal High Court in its ruling on the 7th of September in the case between himself and the commission as well as the 23 count charges leveled against him by the commission.
In a letter addressed to the Chairman of the EFFC on Wednesday, Turnah maintained that the commission in the case failed woefully to prove its case in the lawsuit that dragged on for almost seven years.
Recall, a Port Harcourt Federal High Court on Thursday, 7th September ordered the immediate release of the assets, properties, and finances of George Turnah seized by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) after nearly seven years of legal tussle.
The court said the agency failed to prove any of the 23 count charges leveled against Turnah in the case.
The EFCC in May 2017, confiscated Turnah's assets, businesses, and finances on allegations of corruption and pressed a criminal charge against him in the Federal High Court, Port Harcourt Rivers State.
Turnah before the incident served as an aide on Youth Matters to two former Managing Directors of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC).
