Video: Mother Of Nye Udu Upata, Mama Linah Otuwarikpo, Has Been Buried

Her burial on Friday, February 3 witnessed the presence of a mammoth crowd of sympathisers who thronged Ihuaba Community Primary School field and the Ihuaba Palace of Nye Udu Felix Enene Otuwarikpo, Nye Udu Upata III of Upata Kingdom.

While her remains were been taken to the primary school field for funeral service, scores of residents were seen in groups discussing the demise of the mother of the Upata traditional ruler. The eighty-four-year-old mother, grandmother and great grand mother, died on December 28, 2022 after a brief illness.

A compassionate and caring mother, she used her influence to advance the progress of her children and those who came close to her, encouraging and motivating them to give their best in the course of serving humanity.

Her strictness accounts for the profuse outpour of sympathy and condolences. Her demise understandably leaves a huge void to fill which is why, many people from all walks of life came to honour the eternal memory of the deceased who cherished the virtues of generosity, peace, tolerance and devotion to unity.

In appreciation, Nye Udu Felix Enene Otuwarikpo expressed his deepest thanks to the public and invited guests who attended the funeral. There presence signpost a fitting tribute to the departed for a life well lived.

The traditional institution was visibly represented, including the political class, academia, Christian and Muslim leaders, business and corporate leaders. Others are the Alumni of the University of Jos, the public relations family, management and staff of the Industrial Training Fund among many other social groups that added more colour to the funeral rites.
