VIDEO: EKEPEYE OWOR HOLDERS THROW THEIR WEIGHT BEHIND ADA EKPEYE LOGBO II

A traditional group under the aegis of Ekpeye Scepter (Owor) holders (EOH) has thrown their weight behind Social Democratic Party SDP candidate Dr. Patricia Wudhiga Ogbonnaya who is deputizing Senator Magnus Ngei Abe in the forth coming gubernatorial election in the state.

The group made the declaration during their early morning meeting held Friday at Ubeta Community in Ahoada West Local Government Area of Rivers State.

EOH prayed the deity to ensure victory among other things for Magnus Ngei Abe and his deputy Dr. Ogbonnaya who is popularly known in the area as Ada Ekpeye Logbo II.

Addressing newsmen, EOH Secretary Elder Okpara Ebeledhi said, the group was endorsing their own daughter and her principal for the forth coming election because of their capabilities and track records.

Elder Ebeledhi said they banked hope on Ada Ekpeye Logbo II following her antecedent in Ekpeye Land; describing her as the best option for Rivers’ people. 

“Poor men are suffering in Rivers state and Nigeria; we want somebody who will save the poor men, Ebeledhi said, and the person is nobody but Magnus and Ada Ekpeye Logbo.”

“Ada Ekpeye Logbo gave us cows and money each Ekpeye new yam festivals; bought us rice, cloths and yam each Christmas; such a person will do more if elected; therefore it is now time for us to pay her,” Elder Ebeledhi added.

The Secretary said, Dr. Ogbonnaya’s generosity transcended beyond Ekpeye even when she has not aspired for any position; noting that the late Ekpeye Monarch gave her the title Ada Ekpeye Logbo II based on her excellent performance and magnanimity in the land.

However, Rivers today gathered that EOH is a traditional body saddled with the responsibilities of performing the fixing of Ekpeye festival date among other rites in Ekpeye land. They unanimously decided to pour their blessings on Abe and Dr. Ogbonnaya as well as queue behind them after series of meetings.
