The Ñyê-ïshï Èlé Úpātá Lôwétü Lî Ny'údū Úpātá III of Úpātá Kingdom, HM Ny'údū Dr. Felix Enene Otuwarikpo, fnipr, today, is 9-years on the ancient Throne of the Úpātá people.
The anniversary, celebrated in a low-key across Communities, calls for unity among Ekpeye traditional rulers and Ekpeyeans alike.
As traditional rulers, there abound countless responsibilities including but, not limited to the maintenance of peace, culture and tradition.
The Úpātá Monarch, has since his coronation, aver that traditional rulers are not religious leaders but the custodians of the legacies of their ancestors, so that they do not go extinct.
That unity can only be predicated on mutual trust and understanding, reciprocal relationship, as well as shared interests, values and aspirations.
Further, that unity would only best be promoted through tolerance and accommodation of each other’s differences, opinions and communal identities.
Devoid of pettiness, all kingdoms are required to adhere to, and actively nurture and entrench, expectations associated with the core basics of unity.
Particularly, Ekpeye as an ethnic nation, should embrace the aspirations of its federating Kingdoms to continue to find, and deploy ways and means of forging, entrenching and sustaining unity for strength.
The commitment and resilience of the members of the Úpātá Traditional Council, youths, stakeholders and the good people of Úpātá Kingdom, is a testimony of the Úpātá development mantra: Úpātá First, Úpātá Always.
The vision is to build a Kingdom posterity will be proud of, holding dear the values our forefathers kept.
