Iyekor Foundation Fetes Over 2,000 Widows in Ahoada West as it Marks 19th Anniversary

Dr. Iyekor Ikporo Foundation for Widows has celebrated its 19th anniversary with a large-scale outreach to widows in Ahoada West Local Government Area of Rivers State.

The foundation, which was founded on December 31, 2007, by former Executive Chairman of Ahoada West LGA, Dr. Hon. Iyekor Ikporo, marked the milestone with a two-day celebration of humanitarian service.

The anniversary activities kicked off with a Thanksgiving Service held on Saturday, September 13, 2026, at the First Baptist Church, Ombor community. The service also coincided with the 51st birthday celebration of the founder.

The grand outreach, held in Ahoada West, saw over 2,000 widows drawn from across the LGA and beyond benefit from the foundation's support.

Speaking during the event, Dr. Ikporo said he is proud of the impact the foundation has made in the last 19 years.

"I am extremely proud of the impact the foundation has made in the lives of Ahoada West widows and beyond. I remain committed to supporting widows," he said.

He noted that the foundation was established as an independent charity organization to support widows and not for political purposes.

Highpoint of the celebration was the distribution of cash gifts and bags of rice to the widows.
