EYC CRISIS: Ekpeye Supreme Monarch Breaks Truce
His Imperial Majesty Eze Sir Amb. Kelvin Ngozi Anugwo Ph.D, CAN, FNIM, MNIMN, FCAI, DSSRS, AP, JP Eze Ekpeye Logbo III and Akalaka 12th has yesterday waded in the tenureship elongation controversy rocking the Ekpeye youth congress (EYC) which has abruptly factionalized the body.
His words: " I summoned you all to seek your permission to withdraw the case from court, and give my own impartial judgement.
It's unfair watching you engaged yourselves in a legal battle over a minor issue."
Eze Ekpeye Logbo III advised members of the EYC not to loose hope in life, but to pursue meaningful ventures.
Citing himself as a case study, where he was not born with a silver spoon in his mouth, but rather strive to make it in life .
Eze Anugwo also debunked any involvement in the killing of Ahoada Divisional Police Officer SP Bako Angbashim; adding that he was arrested and detained unjustly.
The Ekpeye Monarch showed the youths some evidences including letters he wrote to the Rivers State government and Commissioner of police in respect of the security challenges in Ekpeye kingdom, but all were swept under the carpet.
He emphatically stated that he was not only part of the arrangement that brought the late Angbashim to Ekpeye land but invested huge amount of money to sustain his stay in the land; adding that he would soon address the people of Ekpeye on that late Angbashim issue.
Responding, the acting EYC president General Cheta Agbo had given his nod for the withdrawal of the case; but requested that Eze Ekpeye Logbo should not delegate his Chiefs or any sectional monarchs in Ekpeye kingdom to adjudicate on the matter except him.
Recall that the erstwhile EYC President General Comrade Bright Ite had filed a suit in a law Court bordering on the amendments of EYC Constitution and tenure extension which a certain group vehemently opposed him.
It was learnt that the agitating youth decided to plant a parallel executive led by Cheta Agbo resulting in the litigation.
